Week Ends Well Spent

Unno's Bday Adventure

October is always special for our 1st born. This year, he said that is will finally be a KUYA. "No more baby kuya mama, KUYA only". I could not help to feel a bit panicky; for time flies so fast and I am in constant denial that he will always be that quirky and sweet toddler that will follow me around the house asking for hugs.

He picked and decided that he will have a Ghost Buster themed party complete with a ghost cake to boot...and unlimited play at a local playground.

He was happy alright, repeatedly kissing me and his tatay and screaming excitedly that he was so happy. We love you kuya, we pray that you will grow up to be a person full of love and may you inspire others to become better persons. Happy happy birthday love!

Getting Cozy at Camp Weza

#Davao

This little cozy cafe is the brain child of my brother and his friends. Just under a month and it has good reviews from local bloggers. So we went there last Sunday to celebrate our Lola Etit's birthday.

Of course we had to bring in Auntie Letty's famous spaghetti; but other than that...we gorged in their menu..from the frappes, hot coffee and teas to their burgers, pasta and baby back ribs.

I had a visual treat, wishing I could have brought our camera, but I have settled down with my mobile instead. There are books everywhere; I felt nostalgic when I saw the Archie Comic books. It felt like high school all over again hehe.

3D art was everywhere from the floor to the walls even in the toilet. :) Unno, my son particularly fancied the fish 3D art in the bathroom. Mugs lined up their shelves, perfect for a hot brew and a good laugh.

Never too Early to Give Back

I was given an opportunity that was too irresistible to decline. To be part of a teaching team with my boss in a grad school class for that matter.

I was dumbfounded and surprised that I was even considered to be tasked to teach to these group. A bit intimidating yes (as some of the students were professionals and business owners). On the back of my mind, I was scared as sh*t --whether I could deliver that was tasked to me and at the same time wondering if I would make an impact towards the class.

I hope I did.

In my month-long stint as a substitute; I have learned a lot:
